Things that make you go, 'Grr!'

Recently I had the... hmm... let's say 'pleasure'... of working with a non-government organisation (which shall remain nameless) (it was a charity, tho) on a magazine thing.

It was about as much fun as grating one's elbows back and forth repeatedly on a block of concrete whilst singing a medly of Britney Spears songs.

This was mainly due to the charity thinking I had no other work to do than this mag, totally ignoring our deadlines, not bothering to let us know about what ideas they had and generally being as finicky as you can possibly be without it being illegal, immoral or both. And let's not forget that they wanted to generously put words in my mouth in my editorial... hmm! What a special thing for them to do...

Anyway!

FINALLY, after much wrangling, and deep breathing, counting to 10, chanting and meditation on my part, the mag was done. Late... but it was done. And they said they were really happy with it.

But now they're STILL not happy with it...

As Rove would say, "What the..!??!!?!?!?"

And they never bothered to contact me to let me know about the lack of happiness with the whole thing, which was nice of them, but just told other people who told me. So sweet of them.

Now that is one charity that I'm never donating to again. I'd rather give money to rabid stoats to persue nuclear armament.

Or grate my elbows over some concrete.

Oh well, at least other 'normal' people have been happy with the final product. Small consolation, but still better than a poke in the eye.

The First Ever Blog

How scary, I have a blog.

Or at least am starting one. Whether or not it manages to keep my interest will be another matter entirely!

Right now I'm at work, and should actually be working, but I thought I'd spend a moment to throw some words into the ether and make a start on this blogging miracle *lol*

Well, must away! Work calls with the sound of ten thousand elephants on saxaphones dressed in tutus and performing some act from Wagner's Ring Cycle.

:)
