World Youth Day laws - virgin on the ridiculous?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the laws created for World (Catholic) Youth Day undermine basic rights, are repugnant and an affront to freedom.

The penalties are utterly ridiculous (as are the things about "inconveniencing" or "annoying" any of the attendees - don't cut one off in traffic), the taxpayer "contributions," what the heck is with the strip-searching stuff, $5500 for that inconvenience/annoyance thing and I am so sick of receiving World Youth Day press releases. Seriously - they've been coming for more than a year and are all pointless. And annoying. Hmmm.

Anyway, some random thoughts for t-shirts...

^ Popeiary. When the Pope meets Leatherface and decorative gardening.

^ WYD '08: Not where you'd expect to see a man in a dress in Sydney...

^ Cardinal Sins.

I'm so glad I left NSW. Well, that's mainly from the perspective of no longer having a Dilemma government, along with the multitude of bogans with mullets. But I miss my family there, and the friends who are living there these days.

Update: some extra articles can be found here and here.

Actually you seem to be getting more WYD stuff than me, and i'm in sydney...
the bogans in kmart are abundant... however that may just be that they install a few bogans in the building process.
I would like the man in a dress in sydney t-shirt.

Mmm, but I get their press releases. Lucky me. Plus apart from that, still have the habit of reading the SMH.

K-mart and bogan does seem to somehow go together at times. Would make sense that they build them into the structure ;)

Clare - Hmm... Scary. Like some of the more unpleasant Designers for Target range items...

Sugarpuff - Thanks! Glad you enjoy. I really should do more at some point.

Speaking of Target, designers, etc, I'm really surprised at how not well the Collette Dinnigan stuff is selling. There's still quite a lot of it in the stores.

At least there's not WYD underwear. Or is there...

WYD underwear: i'm too scared to look.

after that unpleasant designer whos name i cant remember target makes me think of supre as a valid fashion outlet. target has alot to answer for.

Imagine: a picture of the Pope's face on the front of a pair of underwear. If that's not a contraceptive, I don't know what would be.

ooh ooh! *jumping up and down clapping* put these designs into underwear... please please please

*lol* And call the range "The Papal Prophylactic."

You people are strange.

And that's why I like you :)

I also like Eddy Izzard's views on the pope. http://youtube.com/watch?v=tSajE72Tpjs (it's the old pope, by the way)

And we like you too :) And it's not just because you're strange as well.

The Eddy Izzard thing was hilarious! Thanks for that :)
